Hi Renee, I did submit my work to the Healing Power of Art and received a note of acceptance. It was early this spring. I specifically participate as a champion for “Race for the Cure” and I have my work installed in our local Hollings Cancer Center. The art I painted was personal and individual as each woman is (and I am a survivor). I would be happy to share a short story.
Also, my son, born with learning delays and a need for special education, I elected to work with him directly for 2 years early to learn his alphabet, phonetics and early reading skill. This was done with the magical assistance of art. My schedule for him was integrated for art events to use another part of his brain when I could see I was losing his ability to absorb. Changing to creative concentration of his choice (3 to select) we made a game or competition for fun prior to returning to task…Thankfully, he was able to go to private school with small classes main streamed and even progress to college. I do believe art is vibrant for our aging population as well. It allows a communication without words that is most gratifying. If you can use a short story such as Holly’s, let please let me contribute. Sincerely, Vicki P. Maguire vpmaguire@gmail.com
Thank you Renee.

Thank you for offering to write an article about your use of art in helping your son. At this time we’re several months behind on our schedule for new articles. However, if you’re interested, to learn about our requests for artists’ stories please visit this page.

FOUND IT! Since these are about healing I as surprised you didn’t have place to give comment about the piece..Just a thought
Renee Phillips says
Hi Ted, We always welcome comments. If you want to leave a comment about any of the artwork write it at the end of the page. There are 3 pages of art in this online art exhibition. I’m sure the exhibiting artists would be delighted to read your comments as long as they are written in a positive spirit.

Melinda Priebe says
Can I submit more then one painting?
Hope you have a great week.
Renee Phillips says
Thank you Melinda, that’s a great question. The entry form is set up to upload only one image. Although you could always submit another one at a later date since this will be an ongoing promotion. I hope this answers helps you.

Excellent and important idea, certainly;- considering the diminished public and educational accessibility to all forms of Art.
