Message from Renée Phillips, Curator: “Color (or hue) may be the first component we notice about a work of art. There are unlimited ways artists can use this element to express themselves, share their beliefs, convey a message and transform viewers intellectually and emotionally. We received many outstanding entries and I selected the winning artists using a scoring system based on several different qualifications. ‘The Healing Power of Color’ exhibiting artists create powerful works of art, demonstrate innovation and skill in their mediums and use color to make a positive impact on viewers. They also presented an articulate statement about their knowledge and use of color.”
