In this inspirational presentation view some fantastic images of flora and fauna by several members of The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS. The common phrase “flora and fauna” covers just about every visible living thing in the natural world. The word “flora” comes from the Latin name of Flora, the goddess of plants, flowers, and fertility in Roman mythology. The word “fauna” comes from the name of a Roman goddess of earth and fertility, the Roman god Faunus, and the related forest spirits called Fauns.

“I love celebrating nature and paint our natural environment to inspire and uplift viewers. I also use art to raise awareness of environmental issues. Some of my artworks are based on what I see in the natural environment, and some are from my imagination.”

“My Artwork is the expression of nature, mankind and our place in the universe. From the beginning of time nature has been mankind’s muse when creating art. Now, science has caught up with the phenomenon of nature in human healing. Hospitals are adding art with nature scenes and plants to their facilities. Scientific studies prove this accelerates the healing process.”

“Peonies are a beautiful flower to paint as they have so many petals that can be painted light to dark to create the form of the peony. They burst open and are with us only a short time. However their beauty is so spectacular in size and colors, it is wonderful to have them with us each spring. Many people have memories of their Grandmother’s peonies.”

“The Ocean feeds our world. Its secrets remain yet all flora and fauna are part of the nurturing enriching cycle of life that starts in the oceans of the world.”

“Exploring and capturing the beauty around me deepens my understanding of my place in the world and helps satisfy my curiosity about the world. Through my photography, I want others to experience the same beauty and wonder I see in the world and share in the power of art to heal, soothe and renew one’s spirit.”
