Hello Renee,
I’ve been enjoying visiting your website, reading the articles, and looking at the wonderful array of art in the current ‘Healing Power of ART Inspired by NATURE’ exhibition as well as the Members artwork. Two of my artist friends are Artist Members which is how I found out about your organization, and I would very much like to become a member when that opportunity opens up.
In the meantime, I am interested in submitting to your exhibitions and am wondering how often you have an exhibition, and when the next one might be.
Thanks, and best regards,
Heather
Renee Phillips says
Dear Heather, Thank you for visiting and for your kind words. Normally we have 2-3 open call exhibitions a year. At this time I don’t know when our next one will be. We don’t have any openings from membership except we do invite “Special Friends” which you can consider here: https://www.healing-power-of-art.org/become-a-friend-page/
We also currently have a call for women artists for our annual Manhattan Arts International “HerStory” exhibition at manhattanarts.com which is our parent site. Here is the link for that info: https://manhattanarts.com/call-for-women-artists-for-herstory-2023-international-exhibition/
I hope this helps. All the best, Renee

Angelique says
Hi Renee,
Please forgive my ignorance, but I don’t see how/where to submit work to exhibitions to even become eligible for membership. Not sure what I’m missing. I seem to keep clicking myself in circles 😂 Can you direct me?
Thank you!
Renee Phillips says
Hi Angelique, You are not ignorant, it may not be clear as to how we select our members. Go to this page for more information https://www.healing-power-of-art.org/artists-directory-how-to-join-artists-directory/ I hope this answers your question.

Hi,
I really enjoy your website. I am writing from England and I would like to enter some artwork in The Healing Power of Art Exhibition. The rules state that artists must have their own websites and not a third party website..
Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, I cannot fund a website of my own but exhibit my work on Etsy.com/shop/MartinMulhernArt
. Does this count as a website or is it a third party website? Any advice gratefully received.Thank you very much.
Renee Phillips says
Dear Martin, Thank you for your interest in our call for artists. Etsy is considered a third party website so that would not be acceptable. There are free platforms available to create your website, including WordPress.org and Wix.com, among others. In fact, this week I created a website in a few hours using a free theme from WordPress.org. All you need is a few pages. You could also approach your local college about getting an intern to help you set it up in exchange for course credit and addition to their resume. I also recommend you read How to Set Up on The Artrepreneur Coach website. There you’ll find many articles I’ve written to help artists. And they are all free. 🙂

Rita Vilma says
Hello Renee!
I am completing my entry for “Our Bound With Nature” and as I sign most of my work on the front of each piece (very visible) would this be a cause for disqualification?
Thank you!
Renee Phillips says
Thank you Rita, Having a signature on your artwork is absolutely fine! I look forward to seeing your entries.
Ue says
Hi, I’m writing from the Tamalpa Institute which is s nonprofit expressive arts organization in San Francisco, CA. We were wondering if our organization would be one that you feel would be appropriate to be listed on this site. Here is a little more about us: Founded in 1978 by dance and expressive arts therapy pioneers Anna Halprin and Daria Halprin, Tamalpa Institute is internationally recognized for its unique approach to movement, dance, and expressive arts therapy and education. We offer classes and programs throughout the year for people who wish to incorporate the embodied creativity of the arts into their personal lives and professional practices. We train and empower the next generation of leaders to utilize dance and the expressive arts as a catalyst for change and transformation in their communities, and throughout the world. Our Tamalpa ArtCorps program helps bring this important work into jails, hospitals, homeless shelters and community centers internationally. If you think we might be a good fit for your site, please let me know what I need to provide you with in order to be listed. Thank you!
Renee Phillips says
Dear Ue,
Thank you for visiting our website and writing a comment. Thank you for everything you do to enrich the lives of others who are in need. The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS is focused on visual art. If your organization (or any other organization you know of) uses any of the visuals arts — painting, drawing, sculpture, etc. in your workshops, it would be a welcome addition to our resources. Best regards, Renee
Minna Taipale says
Hi!
I’m writing from the University of Applied Sciences Humak in Finland. We teach Cultural Management, Finnish Sing Language and Civic Activities and Youth Work. Right now we are creating Agency of Cultural Well-being. The agency focuses on education, consulting services, disseminating information and influencing policymakers. Our main aim is to promote equal access to arts and culture. More about us you can read here http://www.hvvt.fi/inenglish
We are visiting New York in June 14.-16. During that time we would like to meet organizations that promote equal access to art and create work opportunities and new business logics for artists.
I’ve noticed your organization works in many levels of our interests and would very much like to visit you during our stay. Do You think our visit could be organized in such short notice?
Best Regards,
Minna
Renee Phillips says
Dear Minna,
I’m very interested in learning more about what you are doing. It is short notice to arrange a face to face meeting but we can possibly arrange to speak on the phone during your visit. Please write to me directly at my email address and mention this message.
Best regards,
Renee

Your webpage interests me…….mentally ill persons like myself have few venues to choose from to do art……I have done art for 10 years or more….mostly on my own with some instruction….I have always found art to be healing…..the feeling of being at peace, concentrating on a piece while leaving out all the the problems which seem to be part of my illness. I keep some of my best art on a website for artists
