In the article “Artist Members Share Their First Experiences with Creativity”, presented on this website, Nimi shares this: “One day, when I was about five years old and sitting in our family room, I copied/sketched an embroidered pillow cover depicting an Indian legend. My father saw my sketch and was so very proud of me and went around the room, happily showing off my work. That moment ignited the artistic spark in me and gave me the confidence to pursue a creative profession and live an artistic life. Often, there were stressful situations around me, and art was my escape and my therapy.”

Nimi Trehan’s Artist’s Statement: “My layered art is a visual expression of my healing process and a holistic worldview where everything is connected through life and energy. As I relish the silence of the natural environment, I am exposed to unseen elements that engage all my senses, bringing my mind and body into a state of tranquility. Nature’s palette and organic forms weave their way into my art which is abstract and complex, valuing expression over perfection. As I create, my mind and body feel renewed and energized and I transmit positive vibrations into the universe.”
Interesting Fact About Nimi Trehan: “As a versatile artist, I’ve collaborated with other art forms to paint live on stage and contributed artwork for book covers like “Unwavering” for “Unchaining/Decolonizing the Mind” by Nishi Chawla, and “Celestial” for “Shrimad Bhagvad Gita: Rhymed Verses” by Urmilla Chawla.”
