Rajul Shah’s Artist’s Statement: “My work is a fusion between the Japanese Art of kintsugi and the spiritual teachings of the Chakras. Using the Aura of each chakra, I paint meditative abstract expressions of color. Kintsugi is the practice of mending broken pottery with lacquer mixed with precious metals. The once-flawed object becomes a work of art, each golden seam celebrating its history and resilience. Kintsugi is a metaphor for the human journey. We recover from life’s challenges to tell our unique stories. Balancing energy centers within our body (Chakras) helps mend the imbalances within us. Each chakra symbolizes an aspect of our well-being.”
Interesting Facts about Rajul Shah: Prior to becoming an artist, I worked across various diseases in healthcare marketing for 20 years. My aspirations have always involved “healing”. Having lived with Depression/Anxiety for the majority of my life, the process of “creating” has helped me cope and heal; whether it be through music, photography or painting.
