Rosemarie Adcock
Rosemarie Adcock, The Miraculous Draught of Fishes, oil on canvas, 48″ x 48″. My paintings are a continual exploration of color, used to create and invent form I cannot naturally see being single-sighted. The excitement of seeing created form emerging in paint because of the unexpected play of one color against another, even creating translucence, serves as a playful and wonderful journey of form and composition for me as well as my viewers. rosemarieadcock.com
Tanis Bula
Tanis Bula, Mixed Peonies, watercolor, 19″ x 19″. Color is everything to me. A particular love is to paint flowers revealing the delicate colors and shapes that make each flower remarkable. I like using many colors in my paintings to create an appreciation for nature and its many colors. tanisbula.com
Kari Bienert
My color field oil paintings celebrate color in a way that uplifts and inspires. Each work takes many weeks of mixing oils together to create palettes of new colors that are placed intuitively on the linen. I am fascinated by the infinite possibilities of mixing new colors and the spectrum of feelings color can convey to create harmony within and make our everyday lives make glorious sense. karibienert.com

Renée I am doing a research project on Art and living with Alzheimer’s, is there someone I can contact to discuss the subject of art and Alzheimer’s?
Renee Phillips says
Jacqui, That’s a great topic. FYI, June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month so I’m sure there is/ will be a lot of coverage on the subject. I would start with the Alzheimer’s organization to speak to someone there. Here’s a page on their site about Alzheimer’s and art: https://www.alz.org/help-support/caregiving/daily-care/art-music And, here’s a good article https://www.aplaceformom.com/blog/2013-10-31-art-therapy-good-for-brain/ that may provide leads. We also have a resource directory of different nonprofits that provide art and healing programs. Here’s a link. After you finish the project if you want to share your findings with us in an article let me know.

Gordon says
Renee, you organized an outstanding exhibition. The quality is excellent and the variety is fascinating.. Congratulations to all the artists in the show. Although my art wasn’t chosen I know what I now need to do to improve my painting techniques and also practice writing about my art. I love looking at the art and also reading the statements. Thank you for providing both. It’s very educational. I’m going to share this with my students.
Renee Phillips says
Gordon, thank you for your comments about this exhibition. I agree! It is outstanding! We attract many amazing artists to all of our exhibitions so it’s very challenging for me to choose the finalists. I’m glad to know exhibitions like this also serve to educate artists about how to improve their skills when they discover artists with more experience and can visit their websites to learn more. Furthermore, I always encourage artists to learn how to write their artist’s statements. It was disappointing, that many talented artists who submitted their artwork did not provide articulate statements or one that related to the theme, so unfortunately they were not included. I’ve written articles about How to Write Your Artist’s Statement on my Renee-Phillips.com website. Here’s a link to one article worth reading How to Write Your Artist’s Statement with 28 Guidelines Best wishes to you and your students!
